Faker and Keria Evaluate All LoL Worlds Champions, from the Best to the Least Impressive

T1 star players Faker and Keria ranked all the champions from the League of Legends Worlds, expressing their views on which teams have made a significant impact and secured their status over the last decade.

Among the 14 teams that have won the Worlds title, T1 has achieved the championship five times. This historic success influenced Keria’s assessment, as he placed T1’s dominant 2015 season at the top. He considers that squad to have been the «strongest» roster, recalling MaRin’s legendary performance on Fiora as a pivotal moment of that year. T1 completed the tournament without a loss until the finals, ultimately defeating the KOO Tigers 3-1.

T1 has been a formidable force at Worlds.

Second on the list is the 2023 T1 roster, which achieved its first Worlds victory, bringing the organization’s total to four championships. Following closely is DAMWON Gaming’s impressive 2020 season, with Keria noting that other teams aimed to avoid matching up against them during the draw.

T1 also appears in fourth place with their back-to-back Worlds victories in 2024, a remarkable feat achieved for the second time. Samsung Galaxy White’s campaign in 2014 ranks fifth. This team, which later evolved into Gen.G, put up a formidable challenge against SKT T1.

Once again, T1 is featured for their first Worlds win in 2013. Faker described that victory as «easy,» which initially led Keria to rank it higher, but it ultimately settled in sixth place. Next, the inaugural Chinese champion, iG, secured their win in 2017, marking a significant moment for China.

Another appearance by T1 comes from their 2016 win, when SKT triumphed over Samsung Galaxy with a close 3-2 score, with Faker earning the MVP award for his outstanding performance.

As we navigate lower on the list, Samsung Galaxy avenged their earlier loss to T1 in 2017 with a decisive 3-0 victory. Next, the Taipei Assassins captured attention for their unexpected journey in 2012, where they bested all Korean competitors.

Fnatic claimed the next slot for their first Worlds championship in 2011. Keria praised the team for establishing foundational roles and lane strategies that became essential for professional teams. The 2018 FunPlus Phoenix run was notable for its impact on China’s reputation, although Faker, with some lightheartedness, nudged them down the rankings, acknowledging their contribution to innovative strategies in the game.

The ranking concludes with DRX’s Cinderella story from 2022 and EDG’s journey in 2021, as neither was able to uplift their fellow LPL teams at the 2025 Worlds event. The eagerly awaited announcement for the 15th winner of the Worlds title is set for November 9 during this year’s championship.
