What Role Does Corpse Play in CloverPit?

CloverPit presents a sinister challenge for players, and unsettling events unfold when dark forces are at play. Upon exploring various drawers, players might stumble upon a Corpse charm. Although it might not be the most appealing item, it becomes essential for those looking to make an escape.

Here’s a comprehensive guide on the Corpse item within CloverPit, detailing its function and the process to acquire it.

How to Obtain the Corpse in CloverPit

The Corpse item can be acquired from an empty drawer by either rolling a 666 on the slot machine for the first time or depositing an item in the drawer during a previous game round. When a new game begins, drawers containing items will each hold a Corpse.

Simply open the drawer and equip the Corpse. It occupies a specific slot on the machine (not taking up any standard charm slots), and cannot be discarded. If the Corpse is still in the drawer when a deadline arrives, it will vanish.

Corpses do not appear in the standard Lucky Charm shop, where other charms like Depression can be purchased. If you need a Corpse for your run, it’s advisable to prepare by utilizing the drawers and restart your run.

How to Use the Corpse in CloverPit

In the end, both Corpses and a Skull are essential for escaping the room and completing the game. There are two possible endings in CloverPit, and for each, players need to collect four Corpses along with a Skull. These charms, if they can be referred to as such, also serve a function beyond just escaping.

On its own, a Corpse increases the player’s debt by five percent, complicating the ability to meet deadlines, especially since it cannot be removed until the run concludes. However, a Skull generates a random free charm in every drawer at the start of a deadline, depending on how many Corpses are equipped.

This setup allows players to potentially acquire up to four free charms at each deadline, simultaneously increasing their debt by as much as 25 percent. While amassing maximum debt may not be the wisest strategy, it can be effectively leveraged if you happen to roll a 666 by chance.
