Drang has made its comeback in Destiny 2 with the recent Ash & Iron update, coinciding with the rework of Sturm. If you’re eager to leverage the Together Forever synergy (along with a few minor bugs), the new version of Drang offers several perks worth pursuing.
Drang is classified as a Solar 300 RPM sidearm with a signature Together Forever intrinsic. Eliminations with this weapon enhance Sturm’s Exotic hand cannon by loading it with overcharged rounds. This unique effect is also found in the new Unfall rocket sidearm, which allows for an exciting pairing with Sturm.

The ideal PvE roll for Drang is straightforward: combining Heal Clip with Incandescent. Heal Clip provides healing for yourself and nearby allies after reloading post-elimination, while Incandescent ignites scorch effects upon defeating enemies. This pairing is highly effective for many Solar weapons.
For alternative perks, consider Collective Pugilism for melee builds, which generates melee energy upon hit after collecting an elemental pickup or destroying a Tangle. In addition to this, Burning Ambition applies scorch but requires multiple hits to trigger and is generally less effective than Incandescent.
PvP perks available for Drang are limited. Moving Target can enhance aim assist and target acquisition. Heal Clip is also a viable option for sidearms, which usually have faster reload speeds. Its effectiveness has been noted in the Crucible, especially on weapons like Heliocentric QSc. The primary distinction is that Heliocentric QSc operates at a 360 RPM Lightweight Frame, unlike Drang’s 300 RPM Adaptive Frame.
In terms of perks, Master of Arms stands out as it can make the weapon more forgiving. At one stack, you need three precision hits and one body shot to secure a kill, and when you reach two stacks, the requirement changes to two precision hits along with two body shots. For dueling scenarios, Eye of the Storm can be beneficial, enhancing handling and accuracy as your health decreases.
How to acquire Drang in Destiny 2
Drang can be obtained through Solo and Fireteam Ops in the Portal (not from Pinnacle Ops), with the possibility of acquiring it by completing activities within these playlists. Daily, there is an activity offering a Bonus Focus reward that could yield specific weapons upon reaching rank B or higher. Keeping an eye on when Drang becomes a Bonus Focus drop is advisable for farming that ideal roll.
