Determining the Weapon for Chalier in the Clair Obscur Expedition 33 (Flying Cemetery)

Completing Act 2 of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 unlocks the ability to fly on Esquie. This feature vastly expands the game map, revealing numerous new locations, many situated high in the sky.

Among these sites, you’ll discover various dungeons and smaller areas worth visiting. One notable place is the Flying Cemetery, where players will encounter a white Chalier Nevron. This character will inquire about the weapon it should wield; here’s how to respond.

What Weapon Should The Chalier Wield In The Flying Cemetery In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

When you interact with the white Chalier Nevron in the Flying Cemetery, it will not be aggressive and will simply ask what weapon it should carry. While it remains non-hostile at this moment, your response will influence the weapon it uses if you engage in battle with it later. This choice is final, so select wisely. You have three options:

Chaliers are common adversaries in the Forgotten Battlefield, and your choice should reflect the type of Chalier you are most accustomed to. This specific Chalier is stronger but shares the same attack patterns as the previous ones. Personally, I was most familiar with the Sword variant’s tactics, so I opted for that weapon.

Once you’ve chosen the Nevron’s weapon, it will be located in the hollowed-out structure to the right of where you spoke to it. It will then approach you and initiate an attack. This Nevron features enhanced stats compared to earlier encounters, and if you select a weapon you’re comfortable with, it shouldn’t present much difficulty if you time your parrying correctly.

Should You Kill Chalier In The Flying Cemetery In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Defeating the Chalier will reward you with the Longer Shell Picto at level 19, additional experience points, and Chroma. After the battle concludes, the Chalier will kneel down, allowing you to ask a few questions regarding the situation. Following this, the Chalier will request that you end its life.

Your next dialogue choice is final and cannot be reversed.

When the Chalier states, «Expeditioner, kill me,» your subsequent dialogue choices will affect the additional rewards you receive for this side quest:

I… understand. Alright. I’ll do as you wish.

Auto Powerful Picto, Level 19.

Are you sure? Why not find a new purpose?

11,680 Chroma

If you pick the second option, you’ll first have to exit the Flying Cemetery and return to the main world, then come back to the Chalier. You’ll find that it has already taken its own life, leaving Chroma behind, and you will miss out on the Auto Powerful Picto.
