GRID has teamed up with Ninja Kiwi, a developer from New Zealand, to enhance in-game data infrastructure, distribution, and community engagement for Legion TD 2.
This collaboration represents GRID’s initial venture beyond AAA esports titles into the wider multiplayer gaming arena.
Legion TD 2, derived from the well-known Warcraft III mod, has maintained a dedicated and active community since its complete release in 2021. This partnership will allow Ninja Kiwi to harness actionable game data to improve player-oriented features and internal development processes.
Utilizing the GRID Play platform, Ninja Kiwi will have access to comprehensive player data for leaderboards, post-match analyses, and community dashboards, in addition to a developer portal equipped with analytics tools focused on player behavior and engagement. GRID will also establish the necessary data infrastructure to support new content developments and future applications.
GRID Play designed to empower indie developers
This partnership marks the inaugural integration of GRID Play, a solution tailored for indie developers to monitor extensive player data. GRID Play is already operational in Legion TD 2, with full leaderboard and statistics functionalities expected to launch later this summer.
«GRID Play was created to enable developers to concentrate on crafting exceptional games rather than managing intricate data,» stated Chris King, GRID’s Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder. «The team at Ninja Kiwi, known as AutoAttack Games, has built a game with a devoted player community and a vibrant ecosystem–attributes where a robust data infrastructure and insightful player statistics can bring significant advantages.»
Brent Batas, CEO and Founder of AutoAttack Games, emphasized the mutual benefits of this collaboration for players and developers alike. «By sharing GRID data with our players, we can better illustrate the unique gameplay richness of Legion TD 2, and this same data will inform our future business and development strategies.»
GRID has long been acknowledged as a leading data provider within the esports sector. The company partners with bookmakers, betting operators, tournament organizers, and publishers to furnish accurate, real-time analytics that assist in managing and monetizing esports content.
GRID’s clientele features industry giants like Riot Games, BLAST, and ESL FACEIT Group, with the latter having signed a multi-year agreement that designates GRID as the exclusive distributor, infrastructure, and integrity ally for all ESL Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 events.
Through the collaboration with Ninja Kiwi, GRID indicates a strategic shift toward a broader gaming industry focus, showcasing how its esports-grade infrastructure can enhance titles that extend beyond competitive contexts.
