In the enchanting world of Pokemon Pokopia, players will find that their journey begins with a crucial skill: the ability to manipulate existing water sources. However, as they advance through the game, they can unlock new techniques, including the ability to create water sources using the «Suck» skill or simply by consuming certain drinks. Mastering these methods is essential for shaping the landscape to optimize habitats for Pokémon and increasing humidity levels, a crucial aspect for the creatures that thrive in water-rich environments.
To establish a water source in Pokopia, players have two primary options. The first involves utilizing the «Suck» ability, which is obtained from a Paldean Wooper found in the Bleak Beach area. Players can only learn this skill after fulfilling a quest assigned by Piplup, who tasks them with making a waterfall, a challenge that only arises after completing the main storyline in Bleak Beach.
The second method is considerably more accessible: players can acquire drinks from vending machines, as random finds in the wild, or from the local PC shop. These drinks, often gifted by appreciative Pokémon, serve as a simple way to fill Ditto, effectively creating a water source without the need for complex quests.
Different drinks in Pokopia produce various types of water, each with its unique properties. Freshwater results from consuming fresh water, while drinks like Moomoo Milk Coffee and Roserade Tea yield muddy water and hot spring water, respectively. Soda Pop, on the other hand, generates seawater. Understanding these options allows players to make informed choices depending on the specific needs of their Pokémon habitats.
Once a water source is created using one of the methods, players can easily relocate the water by directing Ditto to the desired location. This involves pressing the «A» button to release the water, but care must be taken to ensure it is deposited in an enclosed area to prevent unwanted overflow. Notably, the only exception to this guideline is when players aim to create waterfalls, in which case water should flow freely off a cliff.
If the scenario arises where players need to eliminate a water source, the process is straightforward. By using the «Suck» ability once more, players can gulp down the water, effectively removing it from the environment. It is important, however, to ensure there are no gaps in the surrounding terrain that could allow more water to seep in after removal.
With these skills in hand, players will find themselves better equipped to customize their Pokémon landscapes, ultimately enhancing the experience and enjoyment of Pokemon Pokopia.
