Release Date and Time for VALORANT Update on Unreal Engine 5

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a game that requires a high level of skill, and while mastery can take players far, progressing their character is essential for easing the challenges ahead. In this action RPG, known as a Soulslike, players rely on Red Mercury Essence as their chief experience point (XP) and currency, making its accumulation vital.

If you find yourself struggling during challenging encounters or in need of in-game currency for items, farming Red Mercury Essence becomes a viable strategy. This guide highlights two optimal locations for XP farming in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers that can be accessed early in the game.

Best Early Red Essence Farming Spot in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

The first place to consider is Lightzen Temple, which players will encounter early in the game. This area is populated with enemies and is excellent for farming XP due to the high concentration of easily defeated foes.

By taking down all the bandits and the two zombies found in Lightzen Temple’s courtyard, players can collect approximately ~900 Red Mercury Essence. Depending on your character’s strength, this can be achieved in just a few minutes. Moreover, the enemies in this area can also drop Red Mercury Sprouts, each providing an additional 100 Red Mercury. To enhance the farming experience, minor enemies may drop Flying Daggers, which can be either saved for later use or sold for profit.

Ensure you engage all the enemies in Lightzen Temple thoroughly. There are two foes concealed in a house close to the campfire group, and another deceptive monk is hiding inside a dwelling near the temple’s exit.

Alternative Farming Location

For those seeking to acquire valuable skills early in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, another area worth exploring is Shu Sanctum. Progress through this zone until you unlock the shortcut that connects to the opposite bank of the stream. From there, you can engage the various enemies in the neighboring village to gather Red Mercury Essence.

It is crucial to target all four ogre-like enemies that are located throughout the village:

  • One is situated on scaffolding on a cliff leading into the village.
  • Another can be found inside a house beneath the previous one.
  • A third is located in a concealed area along a path surrounded by bamboo.
  • The last one is in the village itself, near the dancing fire demon, which drops an excellent early-game spell.

Each of these enemies yields 270 Red Mercury Essence when defeated. However, they can deal significant damage (especially the one in the village), so approach these fights with caution.

This location can potentially provide more Essence per run, but due to its larger size and the number of enemies, it will naturally require more time to complete. You can wrap up your runs by either returning to Shu Temple or by taking a route that leads back to Reverent Temple.
