It is crucial to target all four ogre-like enemies that are located throughout the village:

One is situated on scaffolding on a cliff leading into the village.
Another can be found inside a house beneath the previous one.
A third is located in a concealed area along a path surrounded by bamboo.
The last one is in the village itself, near the dancing fire demon, which drops an excellent early-game spell.

Each of these enemies yields 270 Red Mercury Essence when defeated. However, they can deal significant damage (especially the one in the village), so approach these fights with caution.
