The narrative in Hell Is Us leads you to Lake Cynon, where you’ll encounter beautiful fields of blue flowers alongside stunning vistas. However, amid this picturesque scenery, there’s a challenge involving five pillars, each adorned with unique symbols. The sequence in which these pillars should be activated isn’t immediately obvious, but with some exploration and assistance, you can unravel the mystery. For those searching for a swift resolution or tips on completing the Lake Cynon pillar puzzle in Hell Is Us, this guide will provide you with all the information you need.
After accessing Pentos Algea’s tomb at the Watcher’s Nest, you will find the ‘Blue Flower Scroll,’ which indicates your next destination and what to look for. If you’re uncertain about who to consult regarding the blue flowers, you can inquire with Erroll Caddell (the elder encountered at the game’s onset), who will direct you towards Lake Cynon.
Lake Cynon Pillar Puzzle Solution in Hell Is Us
Upon arriving at Lake Cynon, locate the water pool encircled by the five pillars. As you enter the area, the pool will be on your left. Four pillars are situated by the water’s edge, while one stands atop a hill to your right. An orange-topped post near the front of the pool displays one symbol, but there are additional slots that are empty. To solve the puzzle, you must find the other orange posts nearby and strike the stone pillars in the order that corresponds to their symbols.
If you’re after the direct answer, activate the stone pillars in this sequence: Crown, Water Drop, Key, Star, Cup.
The sequence begins with the symbol at the top of the posts and descends to the bottom. Don’t be misled by the initial post at the pool’s edge; I made that error myself by starting with the lowest symbol.
How to Find the Stone Pillar Symbol Order
The symbol posts can be located around the water pool in Lake Cynon at the following spots:
- Symbol Post 1: Directly in front of the pool, providing the symbol for the last stone pillar you need to activate, the cup.
- Symbol Post 2: Ascend the stairs to the right of the pool. Located next to a picnic bench, it shows the symbol for the second stone pillar, the water drop.
- Symbol Post 3: Move up the hill from the second post and take the second left to discover a broken symbol post. The other half on the ground is also symbol-less, so the remaining posts must be used to deduce the missing pillar’s symbol.
- Symbol Post 4: Follow the path behind the third post and continue on until you find the fourth post in a similar location on the opposite side of the gap from the third one. This post is also laying down but facing upwards; go down to access it and collect the symbol for the fourth pillar, the star.
- Symbol Post 5: When facing the water pool, take the path to the left and continue past the fourth symbol post. Shortly after, you’ll spot the final symbol post on a small rocky hill to your left, which reveals the first pillar’s symbol, the crown.
Once you have activated the stone pillars in the correct sequence, a hidden compartment will emerge, unveiling a gear on the rear side of the pool. Retrieve this small gear from the secret compartment and insert it into the mechanism to drain the water from the pool, paving the way for your journey ahead.
