The Shu Sanctum is the second area that players will encounter in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. It serves as a refuge for several NPCs trying to avoid the avian humanoids that have taken control. Although it may initially appear to be just a temporary stop, players will soon discover a significant mechanism located at the center of this area that requires the Shu Sanctum Key to activate.
While the Shu Sanctum Key may not be too far off, players should be cautious since this key is guarded by the game’s third major boss. Below is a guide on where to locate the Shu Sanctum Key in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
Where to Find the Shu Sanctum Key in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
The Shu Sanctum consists of three levels for players to traverse, with a Shrine located on the right side of the first floor upon entering. Utilizing the Shrine is advisable, as the boss of the third area resides at the top of the Sanctum.
To reach the key, ascend the stairs at the back right corner of the first floor, then take the next staircase in the far right corner of the second floor. Upon reaching the third floor, players will encounter rooms stained with blood and strange growths, with the main chamber housing the boss known as Feathered Priest – Lu Bingzhang. Defeating this boss will yield the Shu Sanctum Key.
Tips for Fighting Feathered Priest – Lu Bingzhang
This boss has numerous attacks that inflict the corruption status effect, so it’s advisable to equip gear that provides resistance or to carry items that help manage corruption levels. This foe frequently jumps, either charging an attack or repositioning himself, meaning ranged spells or throwable consumables will be advantageous.
The most significant threat posed by this boss is his grab attack, characterized by a brief windup and a long reach. A small purple orb will form in his hand before he attempts the grab, indicating players need to dodge to the side to avoid it, preferably to the left. This attack inflicts substantial damage and typically applies the corruption status effect regardless of when it hits.
What to Do with the Shu Sanctum Key in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
Once you have acquired the key, return to the first floor of the Sanctum and rest at the Shrine before moving on to the next area. Turn away from the shrine and approach the central mechanism, which will have a wooden handle protruding from it. With the key available, players can activate this mechanism to reveal a hidden stairway. The newly accessible staircase is located just to the right of the handle, leading down into the ground near the pedestal.
