Creating the Powered Crafting Bench in Abiotic Factor

Crafting is a crucial aspect of Abiotic Factor. Right from the moment you start your journey in the facility, you’ll be gathering materials and learning recipes essential for your survival throughout the game. However, if you’re new to this experience, some crafting mechanics might be a bit challenging. As you unlock crafting recipes, you’ll find that many basic items can be created from the standard crafting menu. Nevertheless, several advanced recipes necessitate a Powered Crafting Bench. The game offers limited guidance, which can make it difficult to locate the benches. In this guide, we’ll outline how to find and create Powered Crafting Benches in Abiotic Factor.

How to Craft Powered Crafting Benches in Abiotic Factor

Early in Abiotic Factor, you’ll require Powered Crafting Benches to progress. The initial mission – opening the cafeteria door for Dr. Jager – demands their use. Because the game doesn’t provide much support in figuring this out, it can become problematic, particularly if you rush through the tutorial.

While you might think that Powered Crafting Benches are special locations scattered throughout the game, that is not the case. Like many other essential items, you must craft and construct it yourself. Fortunately, you won’t need to scavenge for the recipe.

Upon starting Abiotic Factor, you can unlock the recipe for the Crafting Bench immediately. Access the main menu and navigate to the crafting section. You will find the IDEA: Crafting Bench item, which presents a mini-game that unlocks higher-tier crafting recipes. You’ll need to arrange items in the appropriate slots to determine the Crafting Bench recipe:

  • Duct Tape x4
  • Power Supply Unit x1
  • Any Pipe x2

Once you’ve successfully organized the required items, you’ll unlock the Crafting Bench recipe.

Where to Create the Powered Crafting Bench:

In the crafting menu, certain items may show a darkened image accompanied by the message Requires Powered Crafting Bench. The standard Crafting Bench is what you need to create, and it’s essential to do so in a power-enabled area. The best early-game place to craft the bench is the Security office located near the cafeteria doors.

This location is advantageous for several reasons: first, you’ll find Power Supply Units within that room; second, it’s a good area to establish a safe zone, equipped with a couch for resting and proximity to the kitchen for food preparation.

Ensure you gather Duct Tape, which is quite abundant, along with Metal Pipes. As you head towards the cafeteria door, look for various wall-mounted pipes. Interact with these items to dismantle them and collect the necessary Metal Pipes for the bench. In the Security office’s small rest area, you’ll spot a coffee table near the television. On it are two computer towers with a note instructing you to use them as spare parts–this is precisely what you need. Use a Table Leg to break down the computers, and you will discover Power Supply Units among the components.

After you’ve collected all three items, seek out a power source on the wall. Craft the Crafting Bench via the menu and position it near the power source. Subsequently, use a Screwdriver to assemble the bench and plug it in to complete the Powered Crafting Bench. This will enable you to create an array of advanced items.
