Persona 5 The Phantom X has introduced its first event, a crossover where the Phantom Thieves from the original Persona 5 join forces with the cast of The Phantom X to navigate a version of Kamoshida’s Castle. This adventure comprises 14 missions packed with additional objectives and collectibles to uncover.
This guide will provide a comprehensive breakdown on how to achieve a complete clearance of each mission within the Castle Arc of Persona 5 The Phantom X, detailing collectible locations and offering tactics for handling tougher enemies.
Updated on July 13th, 2025 by Thomas Hawkins: The guide is now revised to encompass all 14 missions that constitute the Castle Arc Event, including collectible locations and strategies for defeating the final boss.
Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc Explained
The Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc is a major aspect of the Take Your Heart Event, featuring a crossover with the Phantom Thieves from Persona 5 and Persona 5: The Phantom X within a peculiar version of Kamoshida’s Palace. This palace exploration is segmented into 14 missions which will be released in intervals throughout the event, likely culminating in a boss battle against Shadow Kamoshida, as indicated by Mission 14’s icon.
This guide details the complete strategy to fully clear all missions, with regular updates as missions become accessible in the game, including information about optional bosses, treasure chests, and the scattered Orbs of Greed/Golden Volleyballs within the Castle.
Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc – Mission 1-1 Guide
This initial mission serves primarily as an introductory segment to the event. It illustrates how the Phantom Thieves arrive at Kamoshida’s Palace and features a brief battle alongside characters Mona and Skull against some Shadows. There are no collectibles in this section and the enemies can be handled easily if you use lightning attacks, which Ryuji can provide.
Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc – Mission 1-2 Guide
This mission allows for exploration and offers several items scattered throughout the castle. Begin by heading right to find a door leading to the dungeons with a Golden Volleyball to collect. After that, proceed up the main staircase, turning right to discover a treasure chest. After handling these collectibles, examine the painting at the top of the staircase to access further into the castle.
Look left at the stairs to find another Golden Volleyball, then descend the left spiral to locate another treasure chest. After retrieving both, ascend the right staircase and utilize the elevator to reach the tower. In the tower, take a left turn to confront a boss enemy guarding a chest, which is weak to Ice damage, making the fight manageable.
After defeating the boss and opening the chest, head to the right exit of your entry point after a cutscene plays. Follow the newly raised path to interact with a chain, triggering a fight against Eligor, who is weak to Lightning. Defeating it will conclude the mission.
Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc – Mission 1-3 Guide
<pThis mission begins with the team stepping outside the castle to explore the west wing's alternate access. Upon exiting, face the castle to the left to find the first Golden Volleyball and a treasure chest. Navigate through the castle's entrance, climb some chandeliers, and ambush enemies weak to Wind damage (Morgana's expertise can excel here) and search to your right for another chest.
Advance past the Shadows guarding the door, and upon rounding the corner, gather the second volleyball on a nearby bookshelf. In the next room, utilize Wonder’s Third Eye to track the glowing footprints and complete the chain puzzle. Opening the chest in the center will instigate a confrontation with two Incubi, who are weak to Bless and Gun attacks, ensuring a straightforward battle.
Following their defeat, proceed further down the hall, eliminating more enemies. A new chain puzzle will block your path forward, and a key will be required for a door on the right. Once you’ve solved the chain puzzle and viewed the cutscene about the locked door, return along your path to find the key on a bookshelf. This will unlock a treasure room guarded by Shadows weak to Ice and Lightning, allowing you to retrieve three chests.
After collecting all the treasure, revert to where the chain puzzle was solved and enter the newly opened door to access the staircase. On the right, behind the stairs, gather the last volleyball, then descend to complete the mission.
Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc – Mission 1-4 Guide
Continue the infiltration by entering the door next to your mission start point. This will bring you to the bottom of the collapsed staircase from the last mission, where a treasure chest and a Golden Volleyball await. Once collected, develop your path to the castle kitchens, climbing shelves and avoiding obstacles until you encounter a strong enemy guarding a chain. Defeating it allows you to pull the chain, extinguishing the fireplace to lower bars barricading a door. Gather the Orb of Greed and Golden Volleyball on the table close to the chain, and ensure to open the treasure chest that was previously hidden in the fireplace before moving on.
After a corner in a small hallway and entering a new room observing Shadows, defeat the enemy to secure a key necessary to activate a chain that will enable your path ahead. Before exiting the room, pick up another Golden Volleyball located on the shelf where the patrolling Shadow was and also collect the nearby chest key to unlock the chest in this room.
In the next corridor, collect the chest at the end and proceed through the left door. Exit into another hallway for a chest, then follow the mission marker leading to this mission’s final battle against enemies weak to Ice. The Shadows will mention a captive woman was imprisoned underground, hinting towards Panther’s location.
Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc – Mission 1-5 Guide
The next goal is to rescue Panther from the underground prison. Follow the path and keep an eye right to find the first Golden Volleyball inside a cell. After collecting it, cross the water to prompt a short cutscene. Post-scene, take left to confront a boss enemy guarding a chest, which includes four Agathion, weak to Wind. Morgana’s single target Wind attack will not suffice on multiple enemies, so eliminating two before using All-Out Attacks is ideal unless you leverage physical critical hits or bring another Wind-skilled member.
Once those foes are down, open the chest and retrace your steps to unlock other cells. Each cell contains Shadows or treasure chest to loot. Approach the mission marker to initiate a dialog about a locked door, then unlock the nearby cell while smashing barrels to reveal a path. Investigate the clue left by Panther in this area, and go left for another treasure chest and a right for another Orb of Greed.
After encountering more foes weak to Lightning, break open the nearby cell for a secondary clue and move on for a chest. Utilize the cages to cross the water, claiming the final clue on the far side, then descend the ramp through the door while snagging the Golden Volleyball on the left. Locate Panther’s cell ahead to trigger a boss battle to conclude the mission. The boss is vulnerable to Fire.
Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc – Mission 1-6 Guide
With Panther rescued, the next goal is to find Joker. As you navigate further through the underground prison, another powerful enemy looms in your path. Utilizing gunfire and Fire attacks from Panther should clear it quickly. With the enemy down, check the left cells to find another adversary guarding a chest (vulnerable to Ice) and pull a nearby chain to lay down a bridge.
Cross the bridge to explore left cell treasures in one, while acquiring the Golden Volleyball on another. Ascend the stairs and look right to gather the key for the adjacent cell. Vanquish the lurking enemy inside and unlock its treasure chest (which is also weak to lightning), then examine the raised drawbridge ahead. Doing this will allow access to another cell where an enemy in possession of the pull chain awaits.
Cross the drawbridge and loot all the cells on the other side where fighting additional enemies and uncovering a treasure chest will occur. Finally, approach the door leading to this area’s climactic encounter. Upon interaction, Lufel will caution you to ensure you are adequately prepared. Then, directly to the right, leap across cages for additional Golden Volleyball treasures and the Hidden Room Key.
Now armed with the Hidden Room Key, backtrack to the section prior to the first drawbridge where you can unlock it. Inside, find the final Golden Volleyball and a fierce enemy safeguarding the last Treasure Chest. This enemy trio, weak to lightning and fire, should pose little threat when handled by Panther and Skull. After the skirmish, face off with the ultimate adversary in this segment, also vulnerable to lightning.
Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc – Mission 1-7 Guide
In this installment, the route brings players back to the castle’s west wing, unveiling a markedly familiar location for Panther. To access the secured room, weapons and shields must be acquired for the four knights in need. As you exit the armor-ridden hall, observe to your right to locate a Golden Volleyball resting upon a chair near a patrolling shadow. Collect it before descending the corridor toward the armory.
Inside the armory, a spear can be quickly obtained from the wall on the right, followed by defeating the patrolling shadow for another chest. Continue past the chest to discover a second Golden Volleyball on a far wall shelf. Eliminate the remaining patrolling shadow and acquire a second spear, then progress through the adjacent door into the next area.
Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc – Mission 1-8 Guide
Returning to the castle’s dungeons, the Phantom Thieves unlock Kamoshida’s Training Hall of Love with the key obtained previously. After regaining control, you’ll encounter a forward path and a downward staircase. Directly ahead leads to a locked door, which should be left for later exploration. Instead, examine the right side of this staircase to collect the initial Golden Volleyball for this area, subsequently heading down to engage with a patrolling shadow.
After neutralizing this shadow and continuing along the path, clear shadows blocking another door and investigate the side passage to the right for a treasure chest. Proceed through the door to enter a chamber containing another chest in one corner and the Hidden Room Key opposite. Collect these items and backtrack to the previously mentioned locked door.
In the concealed chamber, a formidable shadow awaits alongside a Golden Volleyball and three treasure chests. This shadow, Eligor, is vulnerable to lightning–a perfect target for Ryuji’s attacks. Once it falls, loot the room and push into the deeper sections of the Training Hall after receiving a call for help. A locked gate will halt your path but peeking behind you may yield another Golden Volleyball; proceed through the gate across the water to advance. Climb boxes at the end for access to a fresh area.
After traversing the rafters into new hallways, turn around at the onset to find a treasure chest on your left. Revisit the previous path to instigate a cutscene with Morgana, revealing a suspicious shadow. Defeat it to procure the key, then head down the path to your right to discover another chest behind a powerful enemy. As most enemies in the encounter are weak to guns, the fight should not take long.
Following the shadow’s defeat and chest collection, check behind you again for another Golden Volleyball. Now return to the shadow guarding the key to unlock the gate leading back toward the locked entrance. Open the door to progress and reach the final chest in the mission’s conclusion. The boss battle sets you against an Archangel, who only necessitates a drop in health down to half for the mission to end and initiate the final cutscene.
Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc – Mission 1-9 Guide
This mission picks up directly after the preceding battle, where the Phantom Thieves must engage powerful foes, but timely assistance arrives in the form of Joker. This encounter is a fixed-party fight featuring Wonder and Joker against Archangel, starting the battle at half health. As before, Joker is capable of easily hitting the creatures’ weaknesses alongside Wonder if you’ve stacked any lightning damage into your repertoire. Overall, Archangel doesn’t pose a significant threat to the duo.
Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc – Mission 1-10 Guide
Once back on the castle’s upper levels, the Phantom Thieves need to track down baseballs to deactivate a trap obstructing their path. It’s advisable to ensure Wonder is equipped with Janosik, alongside Personas capable of delivering Fire, Ice, and/or Lightning damage before commencing the mission. Joker is designated as a story-locked ally, enabling high AOE Curse Damage output while utilizing his Will of Rebellion ability effectively.
Descend from your opening point to find a Golden Volleyball on your left, after which enter through the door to find a Safe Room ahead. Following the unlocking mechanics, turn right to collect another Golden Volleyball while gearing up for a strong shadow encounter. This group is vulnerable to guns, lightning, and curse, so they should succumb easily. Clear the path through the adjacent door, battling Shadows to reach a pull chain.
Activate the chain, unlocking a side route that should look familiar, then defeat the strong shadow to unveil the area behind. Loot the chest contained within, then follow the mission marker to explore a new room area. Ascend the bookshelves and exit to the castle roof while descending its battlements. Here, you can find another Golden Volleyball atop a box, and the final Volleyball is just before dropping into a box sliding puzzle area, needing a quick diversion to the left on your way down.
Entering the area cluttered with movable boxes, puzzles must be solved to proceed forward. Each puzzle’s success hinges on creating a specific pattern. In the first puzzle, push a block into the lower-right space to form an «X» shape. Eliminate the nearby enemy before uncovering its hidden chest. Following that, maneuver the adjacent block into place to unveil the passage leading onward.
Retreat the block on the left to reveal another treasure chest location, and reposition the block on the right according to the fixed guidance for exposing subsequent paths. Engage in the final encounter of this challenge, utilizing lightning against Eligor and ice to quickly dispose of Beriths.
Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc – Mission 1-11 Guide
Initiating from a staircase means you should avoid the mission marker for now. Instead, scour all the way to the staircase bottom, uncovering an enemy and a treasure chest. Afterwards, return to the mission marker’s path that leads down a corridor with a gate to the right. Bypass the gate, turning the corner while dispatching a patrolling Shadow to reveal a pull chain to open the gate.
Once inside, opt for the first door on the right to discover bookshelves along the walls. One shelf, in particular, holds a Golden Volleyball. Employ the Pull Chain in this room to open a new gate, while closing your entryway. Move towards the new opening and combat a shadow lurking around for another Golden Volleyball on a right-side shelf. With everything accounted for, activate the chain to open both gates in the hall and examine the bookshelves to unveil a hidden chest.
A key to a locked door can be found across the bookshelf opposite the chest, transporting you into another room where yet another hidden chest lies behind a shelf. Conclusively, it is time to pursue the mission marker toward the Chapel, granting access to a treasure chest immediately following a cutscene.
Once that’s accomplished, leap across the pillar platforms to the opposing balcony, activating a chain that creates an upper path towards the Chapel’s far side. Follow the mission marker to utilize this path to make it to the room’s opposite edge, then drop onto a nearby balcony housing a chest while scouting behind you for another Golden Volleyball. Engage with the mission marker and navigate the platforms again to reach scaffolding behind the imposing chapel statue. Descend the scaffolding to acquire a baseball residing near the statue’s base, completing this mission.
Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc – Mission 1-12 Guide
Now, the focus shifts to traversing the ground level of the chapel. Start by clearing out Shadows, camouflaging behind pews for successful ambushes. Post defeating the second patrolling Shadow, inspect the space for a chest on one side and a Golden Volleyball resting on a pew across from it, retrieving them while progressing to the far end of the room.
Engage the chain at the room’s far side to open your forwarding road, then turn right at the door that continues deeper into this mission for a path section down. To the left hidden path, you’ll locate a chest, and on your right, a pull chain offering movable blocks, initiating your block puzzle. Pull the first block into the room with the chain and shift it into the position indicated by the first image to streamline the blocks’ elimination.
Upon blocking removal, the other block must be pulled/pushed into the main section of the chapel, placed again as shown in image two to clear out more blocks. This progression leads to a freshly accessed area, filled with a patrolling shadow and another treasure chest. After claiming the chest, dive deeper into this section to find a Golden Volleyball and a pull chain that opens all the metal gates in the chapel.
With each collectible ticked off within the Chapel bounds, venture through the door pointed out by the mission marker, leading to engagements against two Berith monsters, followed by Eligor. Berith is weak against Ice, while Eligor targets Lightning–and by this onward point, the foes shouldn’t prove difficult should your level be sufficient. Upon their defeat, sweep up a treasure chest from one room corner and collect a Golden Volleyball nearby.
Leverage the nearby chain to dismantle the exit gate and trek through to wrap-up for the mission.
Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc – Mission 1-13 Guide
Returning from where the last mission halted, the Phantom Thieves emerge from safe space after a brief interval, tasked with securing the final baseball. Follow the Mission Marker while dispatching any Shadows on route until you spot a treasure chest directly ahead. Snatch it up before following the next mission marker to a hallway that holds another chest at the end. Ensure to collect that before entering through the marked door for the unfolding storyline within a library, where a Golden Volleyball can be spotted situated across a table.
Shifting course to unite with the initial book, redirect back toward your previous path and enter the left-side door, spotting a book nestled among a bookshelf inside. From that location, use the movable blocks to carve out a route further into the castle by manipulating them as displayed by image two. After being past where adjustments were made, navigate around to the right to successfully position another puzzle block for uncovering a treasure chest, then re-navigate the previous way and branch off left for a concluding block puzzle, opening access to a challenging fight area.
This encounter against Eligor and five Berith could prove treacherous without AOE Ice damage and at least one member skilled in lightning; however, coordinated strikes will assure there’s a quick resolution. Once the confrontation is recovered, unveil the chest they were protecting and trot towards the mission marker for the patrolling Shadow, where one belongs to another required book.
Engaging this Shadow shouldn’t be overly strenuous, especially if effectively defeated by fire or gun damage for a swift take down. Acquiring the Book of Domination is integral; however, the way forward is blocked by another dilemma involving block puzzles to resolve. Activate Third Eye for a sight-advantage on identifying the precise order in which each block should be maneuvered, allowing you to eliminate green and yellow blocks suitably. Proceed past this challenge for another Golden Volleyball against the bookshelf ahead. Develop further by jumping atop wooden blocks to engage another lurking Shadow before navigating through a final block puzzle challenge.
Redeploying Third Eye for seeing through solutions directs you to access a room with the last required book, along with a Golden Volleyball. With both items accounted for, return to the library to unveil the secret room for the concluding mission engagement against a «Torn King of Desire.» This foe displays vulnerabilities to Lightning, Psi, and Bless damage. Although its health is substantial, robust attacks should suffice if players aren’t under-leveled (all enemies here possess a level requisite of at least 50 with the boss at level 52).
Crossroads of Fate: Castle Arc – Mission 1-14 Guide
Immediately upon entering this mission, veer left to descend the stairs, gathering a Golden Volleyball before continuing to disable the swinging blade trap using the aforementioned baseballs. Be sure to grab the chest positioned midway through the trap room–once at the far end, redirect right to confront a patrolling Shadow and open its respective treasure chest defensively. Behind that chest lies a narrow gap allowing passage toward a grapple point, leading to one more chest.
Incorporating the mission marker, advance upstairs along the indicated route straight ahead, surpassing the door directed before finding an enemy securing a Golden Volleyball and treasure chest. Once it’s defeated and both treasures collected, haul back toward the mission marker door. Adjacent to this entry is a climbable pillar area leading to a balcony with an overseeing room containing the last treasure chest. Return downstairs and through the door, gearing up for the final boss of this event.
Boss Fight: Raga
Raga presents a relatively simplistic yet perilous challenge, divided into two significant phases. It’s crucial to have a Medic on your team for this encounter, and having a shield applicator is equally beneficial. Phase 1 features an attack cycle, including three distinct strikes:
|
Attack |
Effect |
|
Golden Knife |
Deal Physical Damage to 1 Foe. |
|
Golden Fork |
Deal Physical Damage to 1 Foe. |
|
Tongue Whip |
Deal Physical Damage to All Foes. |
Both the Golden Knife and Golden Fork inflict a comparable damage amount, while the Tongue Whip inflicts slightly less damage but impacts every participant. Keep your team healed and utilize shields when viable to enable draining Raga’s first health bar. If party members are being taken out in a single hit, applying defensive buffs and leveling up may become necessary before this boss fight.
Once the first health meter has been depleted, Raga will strengthen himself by employing his treasure, gaining stat enhancements alongside a shield.
To conquer Phase 2, you will need to focus your attack efforts on Raga’s Crown; until broken, he continues restoring his HP and reapplies the buffs and shield. Periodically, Raga will sip from a glass, signaling, «Raga is Preparing…» During this period, all party members should protect themselves, as the next turn will deploy a Gold Medal Spike that inflicts massive damage across the team. Guarding participants will sustain notably lower damage from the strike.
Beyond this methodology, maintain the strategies established in Phase 1, chipping away at Raga until his crown is shattered.
Raga’s stat buffs are linked to having his shield. Thus, depleting it will also reduce any damage he inflicts, until he can regenerate it.
After breaking Raga’s crown, he will execute a less potent Gold Medal Spike, reverting to his Phase 1 attack pattern. Continue dealing damage until he is subdued.
