Team Heretics Achieve an Impressive Comeback Victory in Grand Final to Claim Their Maiden VALORANT Title at EWC 2025

Team Heretics has made history by defeating Fnatic to claim the inaugural VALORANT championship title at the Esports World Cup.

Despite initially trailing with a score of 0-2–losing 4-13 on Lotus and 1-13 on Sunset–Heretics mounted an impressive comeback, ultimately winning the grand final 3-2.

The critical scores on the final three maps were 13-11 on Icebox, 13-10 on Haven, and 13-10 on the deciding map, Ascent.

Following their victory, Heretics’ player Ričardas «Boo» Lukaševičius expressed his pride in the team, emphasizing their commitment to persistence and teamwork. He noted, «I’m thrilled that we committed to playing together and achieved this win. Our organization believed in our roster while others sought immediate results, and our dedication paid off.»

With this triumph, Heretics will receive a prize of $500,000 and 1,000 EWC Club Points. Mert «Wo0t» Alkan earned the MVP title for his outstanding performance.

In contrast, Fnatic secured $230,000 and 750 EWC Club Points for finishing in second place. They have consistently performed well, maintaining a runner-up position since the VALORANT Masters in Toronto.

This win also marks a significant achievement for Heretics, who have finally secured a trophy after finishing second in the VCT EMEA Stage 1 earlier this year. Both teams will now return to compete in VCT EMEA Stage 2, building up to the prestigious VALORANT Champions tournament in September.
