Fortnite Launches The Odyssey Collaboration With New Movie Skins

Epic Games has officially launched a new crossover between Fortnite and Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey, introducing exclusive character skins and themed cosmetic items inspired by Homer’s legendary epic.

The collaboration was announced with a 12-second cinematic trailer featuring the tagline, «For some, every game is an epic journey.» The teaser recreates scenes inspired by the ancient Greek poem, with Fortnite adding its own twist by replacing the iconic Trojan Horse with a giant reindeer.

The crossover’s biggest highlight is the arrival of two playable characters based on actors from the film:

Odysseus, featuring the likeness of Matt Damon.
Agamemnon, portrayed by Benny Safdie.

Rumors also suggest that a Penelope skin based on Anne Hathaway’s character could be added in a future update, although Epic Games has not officially confirmed those reports.

Players had two ways to unlock the new cosmetics.

The first was through The Odyssey Cup, a free tournament held on July 15–16 across Battle Royale, Zero Build, and Reload (mobile) modes. Top-performing players in each region earned early access to the Odysseus Outfit, the Xiphos Pickaxe, and the Bow of Iphytus Back Bling. Participants could also unlock the King’s Helm Spray and the Trojan War Loading Screen by reaching specific point milestones.

For everyone else, the Odysseus and Agamemnon skins will become available in the Fortnite Item Shop starting July 18 at 03:00 Kyiv time, coinciding with the theatrical release of The Odyssey.

This is not the first collaboration between Christopher Nolan’s films and Fortnite. In previous years, Epic Games premiered the first trailer for Tenet inside the Party Royale mode and also hosted in-game screenings of Nolan classics, including Batman Begins, Inception, and The Prestige.

The The Odyssey crossover is part of Epic Games’ broader strategy to deliver more than 30 pop culture collaborations throughout the year. The event also launches alongside Fortnite’s ongoing summer celebration themed around the DC Universe.
