Natus Vincere’s player Justinas «jL» Lekavičius has revealed his decision to take a break from competitive CS2.
In a recent vlog, jL disclosed the personal motivations for his hiatus. «I realized I wasn’t enjoying playing anymore, and that’s solely on me–how I felt about the game and myself,» remarked the 25-year-old, mentioning that he plans to step away for six months or less.
The Lithuanian professional cited his aim to be a «good husband» to his spouse, streamer Kamilė «Kamil3e,» as a key factor in his decision to pause his career, particularly following their recent marriage after NAVI’s participation in the Austin Major.
«I want to focus on being a good husband, and perhaps a good father in the future. Presently, I’m not feeling my best physically or mentally, so I’d like to work on that,» jL stated.
jL also expressed concern for both his physical and mental health, noting that he has lost 18 kilograms since the previous summer due to the pressures of the competitive CS2 season.
He hopes to prioritize health and well-being by engaging in physical activities and hobbies, such as going to the gym, practicing martial arts, motocross, and drifting. He acknowledged the risk of injury from these activities, which could affect his team’s performance between tournaments.
Alongside this focus on health, the former Apeks player is eager to delve deeper into content creation. Beyond streaming and participating in FACEIT games, he aims to generate impactful content for the CS2 community.
«I want to explore different areas of life,» jL explained. «The main goal of competing at a top tier is to be the best, and that requires substantial sacrifices, which I can no longer provide.»
Reflecting on his journey with NAVI over the past two years, jL acknowledged the mental challenges associated with competing at a high level. «I’ve realized it may be time to set the mouse aside, at least for six months. I have numerous things weighing on my mind that I can’t seem to escape. Competing demands a significant commitment of my time.»
Throughout his two-year tenure with NAVI, jL achieved significant success. The team secured victory at the PGL Copenhagen Major 2024, where he was named MVP, and also triumphed at ESL Pro League Season 20 and IEM Rio in the same year.
However, the 2025 season has been challenging for NAVI, with the team failing to capture any trophies. Criticism mounted as jL’s inconsistent performances became a focal point, and he openly acknowledged his mental struggles during the initial season.
With his exit, jL has clarified speculation regarding Drin «makazze» Shaqiri’s promotion from the academy team to the main roster. jL extended his best wishes to makazze and his former teammates as they prepare for the next season.
In the meantime, jL is concentrating on self-improvement and readying himself for a potential return to competitive play.
«I hope to return stronger, more prepared, and capable of being a tier-one player,» he concluded.
