Locating Dried Ghast
Initially, you must travel to the Nether dimension through a portal. Look for Soul Sand valleys, which are identifiable by Soul Soil and Soul Sand blocks. It’s advisable to search near Nether Fossils, as Dried Ghast has about a 33.3% chance of spawning in their vicinity. Once located, you can break it easily with your hand or any tool.
Crafting Dried Ghast
You can craft a Dried Ghast block in any world, but you still need ingredients from the Nether. The recipe requires one Soul Sand block and eight Ghast Tears. Soul Sand is plentiful in the Nether, while Ghast Tears can be collected from defeated Ghasts. On your crafting table, arrange the Ghast Tears to surround the Soul Sand block. This process will yield one Dried Ghast block.
Bartering for Dried Ghast
This method is the least efficient for obtaining a Dried Ghast block. You will need to carry several Gold Ingots and wear at least one piece of Gold Armor. Locate Piglins in the Nether and toss Gold Ingots to them. In return, they may offer various items, including, with a chance of about 2.13%, a Dried Ghast block.

To utilize it, place the Dried Ghast block in water for a specific duration. Eventually, the Dried Ghast will absorb enough water and transform into a Ghastling in Minecraft.
