On June 25, Jinggg shared his situation on Discord, stating: «I’ve just arrived in Singapore and will have about 5-7 days to rest before starting practice again and heading to Riyadh for the EWC. I slept during the entire flight and need to check on my wrist first thing in the morning since it has been hurting since my arrival in Toronto, yet we still managed to secure the win.»
«I’m likely to stream tomorrow afternoon or evening, depending on how long the wrist examination takes and whether I’ll need any scans,» he added.
Despite the injury, Jinggg delivered an impressive performance at VCT Masters Toronto, achieving a total of 69 kills, an average combat score of 207, and a headshot percentage of 23 throughout the tournament.
The Esports World Cup is set to kick off on July 8, with VALORANT among the first titles to be featured on the prestigious stage in Riyadh, leaving Jinggg little time for recovery.
Wrist injuries have been a common concern in esports over the years. Notable Counter-Strike players such as GuardiaN and Olofmeister have faced similar issues, which have impacted their careers. Additionally, former VALORANT and Overwatch player Patiphan struggled with wrist problems that led to his departure from the Los Angeles Gladiators.
Following his revelation concerning the injury, fans conveyed their concerns regarding Jinggg’s future in esports.
On Reddit, one supporter expressed hopes that the injury isn’t severe, drawing a parallel to the career interruptions caused by wrist issues for players like Patiphan and many Smash Melee competitors. Currently, PRX has a roster of six players, including a substitute, mindfreak. The team might opt to give Jinggg some rest by fielding the Indonesian player for the upcoming tournament next month.
