ZywOo and Team Vitality are establishing a legacy in CS2. The French team triumphed at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, securing victory with a score of 2-1 against The MongolZ in the finals, further solidifying their unparalleled success in the initial season of 2025.
With this latest win, Vitality has claimed their seventh consecutive title, starting from the IEM Katowice in February. Notably, ZywOo has been awarded the Most Valuable Player for each of these victories by HLTV, proving that his achievements are no mere coincidence.
At the Austin Major, the French AWPer showcased his exceptional skill with a 1.42 rating, demonstrating the kind of reliability that has become synonymous with his gameplay. He ranked first in Stage 3 with an impressive 1.58 rating, surpassing notable players like Team Spirit’s donk (1.54), sh1ro (1.42), FURIA’s molodoy (1.36), and FaZe Clan’s s1mple (1.35).
Despite a rocky start on Mirage during the grand final, ZywOo recovered tremendously, making crucial plays that were pivotal in Vitality’s sweeping victories on Dust 2 and Inferno. He also notably finished a clutch play in the final round, securing the win for his team.
The performance at the Austin Major further awarded the «Chosen One» his 27th HLTV MVP medal, enhancing his lead over legendary players in Counter-Strike such as s1mple (21), dev1ce (19), GeT_RiGhT (10), and kennyS (10). Remarkably, 11 of these MVP titles were won during the CS2 era.
This brings us to an intriguing question: Is ZywOo the CS2 GOAT?
While it may be too soon to make definitive claims, considering that the professional CS2 landscape is still relatively young, ZywOo certainly stands out in this ongoing debate. He epitomizes the current leading team, and his individual performance has remained consistently outstanding.
Players like donk and m0NESY deserve recognition for their excellent performances last year, but ZywOo holds two Major titles (including one in CS2) along with numerous S-tier championships, and he’s only 24 years old. Should he maintain or even elevate his current level of play, we might not only be discussing the CS2 GOAT; we could be witnessing one of the greatest players to have ever graced Counter-Strike.
