Rick Grimes has stepped into the Fog.
With the addition of two new Survivors, Michonne and Rick Grimes, players of Dead By Daylight can now explore six new perks. Here, we’ll take a closer look at Rick Grimes and the optimal builds for his three distinct perks.
Rick Grimes’s Perks in Dead By Daylight
Rick Grimes is a natural leader, eager to assist others and restore what has been lost, making his perks ideal for collaborative strategies. His three unique teachable perks exemplify his dependable leadership.
- Apocalyptic Ingenuity – This perk reveals the auras of broken pallets within a range of 24/28/32 meters. It activates after unlocking or searching through two chests. Near a broken pallet, you can rebuild it into a Fragile Pallet that will break upon being dropped by pressing the ability button.
- Come and Get Me! – After unhooking a Survivor, crouch and stay still to activate this perk. It suppresses blood pools and scratch marks for all injured Survivors within 24 meters. You will scream and reveal your aura to the Killer for 5 seconds.
- Teamwork: Toughen Up – While injured and near a Survivor within 24 meters, this perk allows you to stun the Killer with a pallet or blind them. It also suppresses your grunts of pain, blood pools, and scratch marks for 20/25/30 seconds.
Optimal Build for Apocalyptic Ingenuity
This perk thrives within a build focusing on locating and searching chests, allowing you to capitalize on this ability. Pair Apocalyptic Ingenuity with Plunderer’s Instinct and Ace In The Hole for easier chest access and better items. Include a Shiny Coin offering to increase chest spawns for a highly effective build that goes beyond merely crafting fragile pallets.
| Perk | Description |
|---|---|
| Apocalyptic Ingenuity | Activate this perk by opening or rummaging through two chests, which then enables rebuilt broken pallets to transform into fragile pallets that break upon drop. |
| Ace In The Hole | Ensures a 100% chance of obtaining a very rare add-on and a 50% chance of an additional uncommon add-on from chests. |
| Plunderer’s Instinct | Allows the player to see the auras of nearby chests. |
| Appraisal | Gives a chance to find a second item when rummaging through newly opened chests. |
| Optional: Pharmacy. Shiny Coin Offering. |
Speeds up chest unlocks by 80%, lessens noise when unlocking, and guarantees an Emergency Med Kit. Use a Shiny Coin offering to spawn more chests on the map. |
Optimal Build for Come and Get Me!
There’s no greater satisfaction than aiding your teammates’ escape in dire situations. This perk can act as a diversion, particularly when a Survivor is being targeted right off the hook. Combine this with perks that enhance distraction and survivability during chases for maximum effect.
| Perk | Description |
|---|---|
| Come and Get Me! | After unhooking a Survivor, crouch to activate this perk, which suppresses their blood pools and noise while revealing your aura to the Killer for 5 seconds. |
| Sprint Burst | Allows for a rapid escape when being chased by the Killer, enabling injured teammates to recover safely. |
| Dead Hard | Gives a short burst of endurance to survive a hit and prolong a chase. |
| Vigil | Accelerates recovery from various status effects like exhausted, broken, or hindered for you and your teammates. |
| Optional: Distortion. Hardened. |
If you prefer to avoid revealing your aura and keep the perk’s protections, utilize these perks for stealth. |
Optimal Build for Teamwork: Toughen Up
Winning often hinges on teamwork, and this perk is designed around your allies stunning the Killer or blinding them with a pallet. Thus, an optimal build would focus on providing frequent location information to your fellow Survivors. Perks like Wiretap can help reveal the Killer’s aura during chases near generators, allowing teammates to assist you with a blind or stun.
| Perk | Description |
|---|---|
| Teamwork: Toughen Up | When injured, nearby Survivors can stun or blind the Killer while suppressing their grunts of pain, blood pools, and scratch marks. |
| Wiretap | Reveals the Killer’s aura when they are near a generator where a trap has been placed. |
| Aftercare | After unhooking or healing other Survivors, both of your auras are permanently revealed to each other. |
| Boon: Shadow Step | Bless a totem to suppress scratch marks and hide auras in the vicinity, aiding in your and your team’s escape from the Killer. |
| Optional: Plot Twist |
Allows you to vacate the area, enter a dying state, and recover rapidly to full health. |
