Dune Awakening immerses players in the harsh environment of Arrakis, a planet filled with intense heat and the lurking presence of Sandworms. Survival hinges on gathering essential materials, with water being a critical resource. When your water supply dwindles, your character will suffer from dehydration, leading to various debuffs that complicate traversal in areas like Hagga Basin. Here’s how to effectively secure water in Dune Awakening.

Drinking from Dew of Saplings

In the starting region of Hagga Basin, a simple method to alleviate thirst is by collecting dew from saplings in Dune Awakening. Early in the game, players learn about water collection mechanics and are guided to search for flower patches to refill their water supply.

While there are various clusters of flower saplings throughout the area, this approach is not the most efficient, as each dew collection only replenishes a third of your water gauge.

Using Blood Purifiers to Collect Water

As players advance through the initial stages of Dune Awakening, they will acquire a Blood Extractor. This tool allows them to extract blood from defeated foes and store it in Blood Pouches. The collected blood can later be transformed into water using a Blood Purifier.

Players can gather numerous Blood Pouches to amass a significant blood supply from enemies, which can be deposited into a Blood Purifier–up to 6000 ml at a time. The purifier converts blood into water at a rate of approximately 5 ml per second. Players can then either drink directly from the purifier or transfer the water into a Literjon for later use.

Unlocking Windtraps and Dew Reapers

As players reach the mid-to-late stages of the game, they can unlock advanced tools like Dew Reapers and Windtraps. These devices simplify the process of water collection significantly. Dew Reapers enable players to extract dew from flower saplings, storing it in their Literjon for future consumption. This method is especially productive just before dawn, as the flowers give off a light-blue glow.

Conversely, Windtraps can be installed in your base to convert atmospheric moisture into potable water. The water produced will be held in containers that must also be set up within your base in Dune Awakening.
