While navigating Fiend’s Hollow during the Cages in the Dark quest, players will encounter the Mysterious Door. Although not directly linked to the quest, this puzzle involves the fire basins scattered throughout the cave. Below is a guide on how to unlock the door and reveal its contents.
How to Unlock the Mysterious Door in Titan Quest 2
To unlock the Mysterious Door, players must interact with and ignite the fire basins in a specific sequence. Begin with the basins in the northern part of the cave. Near the last bend of the cave, find a basin on a pedestal. Light it, ensuring it stays ablaze. The key to solving this puzzle lies in lighting the basins in order of the number of basins present in each set.
Be cautious, as lighting an incorrect basin will extinguish the flame almost immediately.
After lighting the first basin, go to the lower right corner of the cave into the cell where you liberated some captives during the Cage in the Dark quest. There, you will find two basins that can be ignited in any sequence. Once these three basins are lit, return to the Mysterious Door where three basins await. Light them in any order, and the door will unlock.
What Awaits Behind the Mysterious Door in Titan Quest 2
Inside, players will meet a miner named Mopsus, who expresses his frustration about the door being opened, which he claims protected him from the chaos outside. Aside from a few interactions, there’s not much to do with Mopsus other than hear his grievances. However, solving the puzzle rewards players with two chests containing valuable loot. The chest in the bottom right corner is particularly rewarding, often yielding treasures similar to those found in the Desolate Shore puzzle, making this door puzzle a significant one to complete.
