What Is A Chronicled Wish In Genshin Impact?

The Chronicled Wish banner in Genshin Impact combines elements of both the regular Character Limited banner and the Weapon banner. Below is a brief overview of how the wish system operates:

  • To use the Chronicled Wish banner, players must spend Intertwined Fate.
  • Players can choose from available characters or weapons.
  • On the second 5-star pull, players are guaranteed to receive their selected character or weapon, with a 50% chance of receiving it on the first 5-star pull.
  • A 100% guarantee for a 5-star drop occurs at 90 pulls, regardless of whether it is a weapon or a character.
  • Choosing a character as your guaranteed drop means that your loss on a 50/50 will also be a character, while opting for a weapon results in a weapon for your loss.

Working similarly to both the Limited Character and Weapon banners, here’s what to expect from the Chronicled Wish banner in Genshin Impact:

  1. Choose between characters or weapons.
  2. Continue wishing until you obtain a 5-star pull.
  3. There’s a 50% chance to receive the 5-star prize you selected. If you fail on the 50/50 with a character, you will get another character, while a weapon selection will yield another weapon.
  4. If you do not succeed on the 50/50, you will gain one Fate Point, similar to the Weapon banner. However, unlike the Weapon banner’s requirement of three 5-stars for a guarantee, the Chronicled Wish only needs two 5-stars for the same guarantee. Thus, the next 5-star pull will guarantee to be the desired character or weapon.
  5. Once you obtain the desired 5-star or if you decide to change your choice, the Fate Point will be reset.

Does Chronicled Wish Pity Carry Over In Genshin Impact?

Similar to the Weapon banner, the wish count carries over, meaning the pity count continues, but Fate Points from the Chronicled Wish do not roll over.

An Example Of The Chronicled Wish System

For instance, if you select Shenhe as your guaranteed 5-star drop, you will not obtain any 5-star weapon from this banner. When using Intertwined Fate, if the 5-star you pull is not Shenhe and instead you receive Ganyu, you lose the 50% chance.

Consequently, you will earn one Fate Point. Now, you can proceed to pull until you get another 5-star, and you’ll secure Shenhe on your next gold drop.

However, if you stop pulling and the Chronicled Wish banner concludes, you forfeit your Fate Point.

As an example, after obtaining Ganyu and losing the 50/50, if you pull 50 times and exhaust your Primogems, when the current Chronicled Wish banner ends and new characters are introduced, you’ll return to a 50/50 scenario on selecting a new 5-star guarantee. Meanwhile, your pity count remains at the 50th draw, meaning you will only need 40 additional pulls to qualify for the 90th wish guarantee.

Is Chronicled Wish Permanent In Genshin Impact?

The Chronicled Wish made its debut in Genshin Impact version 4.5, while subsequent iterations appeared later in version 5.3, with the third set of banners introduced in version 5.6. It is clear that the Chronicled Wish does not appear in every version but is instead available intermittently.

When the Chronicled Wish was released, its selection criteria for featured characters included:

  • Only exclusive 5-star characters that have appeared in a Character Limited banner at least three times without a recent appearance in any Character Limited banner will appear in the Chronicled Wish.
  • Characters included in the Chronicled Wish may still appear in future reruns or in other Chronicled Wish cycles.

Nevertheless, the developers later adjusted the eligibility criteria to allow the return of highly requested characters like Shenhe.
